This 0.76 mile reconstruction of TH 19 included the reconstruction of three key intersections at Alton Avenue, Chalupsky Avenue, and CSAH 37. The existing undivided rural section was redesigned into a divided urban section. The additions to the roadway included new pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalks. Design services included detail plans for roadway geometrics, bituminous surfacing, concrete pavement design, storm sewer design, landscaping, signal design, and lighting.

This project was needed to improve the general safety of roadway and to provide safe access onto the trunk highway for a growing population in the community. The three new intersections will provide the benefit of increased safety and operation without the need for major upgrades to the intersections in the future.

In addition to the preliminary and detail design of this project, our team provided comprehensive drainage design. In response to the city's concern regarding stormwater runoff increases due to the proposed roadway project, our team designed infiltration trenches adjacent to the roadway corridor to slow runoff to pre development levels. Projects tasks included incorporating the proposed stormwater treatment alternative into the proposed stormwater system, as well as a detailed analsysis and hydraulic model of both the existing and proposed conditions.
